17mmx120mm Yate Loon

Nope you can't buy one, but you can make one. It's a 20mm thick Yate Loon (from Jabtech)......with the flange cut off using a bench grinder. You could also use a Dremel, but the grinder is fairly easy.

There are many reasons why you might need a thin fan.....mostly clearance related. If you want to mount this in the orientation that uses the now cut-off flange, you can make four stand-off posts out of rubber hose. Attach the setup using zip-ties. This would give you a de-coupled thin 17x120. Not bad.

I love it, the modding never ends. I did the same thing to a 92x25mm Nexus to make it fit right between my HR-03 and my Ninja (mATX case and mobo is slightly cramped!).

Have you noticed if removing half the frame alters the noise from the fan?

I would have thought that it might have more turbulence now.
