Fractal Design Silent

Post by lethul » Tue Jun 03, 2008 8:51 am

Anyone have any experience with this fan?
It's getting good feedback on another page, but on the other hand they are often clueless :)

But its cheap so it got my attention :)

Tjena!

Which other page? Which type of fan? I'm looking for info on the 140mm:
http://www.fractal-design.com/?view=pro ... =4&prod=19

Unless someone can point out where I can get YateLoon 140mm im EU.

Hi!

Looks like this is going to be an all swedish thread... :D

Fractal Design was formerly known as Cooltek.

I haven't tried them myself but I have a friend who uses the 140mm version and he likes it. Don't think he is as obsessive with silence as I am though.

Here's a link to a test in the Swedish magazine TechWorld where Cooltek fans are tested together with Nexus, Noctua and Zalman.

Doesn't look like anything special to me. The 120mm will probably sound a lot like the Zalman and Zalman fans are always buzzy. But I have no idea what the bearing quality would be. I'm pretty sure these are just rebadged Evercool fans, since they are the only company I know that uses EL bearings. Last I checked, Evercool wasn't very good.

Fractal design fans are very affordable. They're cheaper than nexus fans in here and you probably get 3 or 4 fractal fans with price of single noctua. However they still don't beat YL, which are almost impossible to get in here.

I like their new case with aluminium door and all. Looked somwhat like P180...
