Quiet 38x120mm fan?

Seems the main exhaust fan on my case is dying after running non-stop for 3 years. So I need a new one.

trouble is all of the fans reviewd here on spcr are 25x120mm fans. and this being a server case, it wants to use a 38x120mm fan. I want to use one too for the increased airflow I use.
The case is this one:

I need the increased airflow because I have 2x Zalman 9700 HSF on my DP motherboard with the fans removed. I did that to reduce noise and because the large airflow from the existing fan cooled my processors just fine even with the zalman fans removed.

I have a Scythe SFF21F I could put in there. but im concerned it wont move enough air.
I was also looking at this one:

but it seems too noisy just from the specs, and I could not find a review here on spcr.

Ideas and/or suggestions?

OP, check out the Scythe 120mm Ultra Kaze models. Just might be what you're looking for...

Ultra Kaze is a no-no, they have high pitched motors, even when under volted.

You want an NMB-MAT FBA12G12L1A or FBA12G12M1A. The photo in the svc link shows an old panaflo model. It is most likely an oem model from years ago; you have no way of knowing where it came from.

Purchase from Dorothy Bradbury or Digikey to make sure you are not getting rejects or oem surplus.

The label should look like this:

well I got the ultra-kaze fan and it seems to work great.
not knowing which one would work i got the slow and med speed ones. the med sped one (2k rpm) is in my case now. The drone from my old failing fan is gone but the high airflow of this thing (87cfm) is causing a lot of turbulance noise. so i'll be switching to the lower speed one.

Mabye i can use the 2krpm one as an exhaust fan for the computer room itself...

And im not hearing any high pitched noises that LuckyNV talks about.

I was just going to suggest the Panaflo fan Happy posted above.

Performance-PCs has them for the same price and sleeved.

BTW. SuperMicro +++. Are you using their motherboard as well?

But what is the actual noise level when undervolted? Can it be undervolted to a noise level comparable to a Nexus Real Silent or Scythe Jyuni (800rpm) 120mm?

Why doesn't performance pcs show the label? Are they selling oem surplus or fresh nmb-mat retail versions?

Actually it was a San Ace fan that used to be in the case.

I tried the slower speed ultra-kaze 1krpm the other day. While it was nice and quiet, there wasnt sufficent cooling. My cpus went from 40 and 41 at idle to 47 and 50 at idle. where they used to be 46 and 50 at load.

So it looks like I need to find a differnt HSF for my Opterons if i want things to stay quiet.
So im off to search for socket 940 compatible coolers.

aztec - i have a Tyan k8we board in the supermicro case.
my older PC has both a supermicro case and motherboard (p4DC6+ and SC762). But the thing is 7yrs old and wont quit so i have an excuse to upgrade.
