Yate Loon D12SL-12 Noise Recording

Post by bondiablo » Tue Dec 16, 2008 4:00 am

Does SPCR have a noise recording for the Yate Loon 1350rpm version of the 120mm D12SL-12? I tried searching but all I could find was the Nexus 1000rpm version of this fan, of course with the same model number.

Anyone know how it compares to the Scythe S-Flex 1600rpm SFF21F?

Similar noise profile, but much, much higher perceptible wind noise (no surprise- it is pushing a good deal more air). They do undervolt well, though. I have 3 of them running at 5v (~600RPM) on my external rad and the HDDs inside my p180 are louder.

i have all 3 of those fans. The D12SL-12 has some chatter/ticking at full speed, but when slowed to <900rpm it disappears and sounds just like a Nexus Real Silent 120mm.

The SFF21F has a rather smooth noise signature. At full speed it's mostly just wind noise.
