92mm fan needed

Post by Koolpc » Tue Mar 17, 2009 3:14 pm

I am after a good 92mm fan that is both good at cooling and very quiet indeed. Any recommendations. Looked at the SPCR list but wanted user recommendations. Thanks

Do you need a 92mm fan or just a fan with 92mm mounts?

Scythe makes some full size and thin versions of 100mm fans that have 92mm mounting holes. They will fit in most places that a 92mm fan will but a 120mm fan won't.

Full-size can be found here. Thin can be found around, but won't push as much air.

I have two of the Scythe Kama Flex 92mm fans (these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6835185066). They are pretty good.

Out of pure curiosity I picked up a D0925C12B1AP-12, 1700RPM GentleTyphoon and put it on a Xigmatek HDT-S963 cooling a E2220. From my informal testing with this configuration it cools the CPU as well as a Arctic-Cooling AF9225-PWM and with less noise. It will be replacing the AF9225-PWM when my PWM bridge is finished.

I would consider the GlobalWin NCB 92mm, as well. It may be tough to find -- the only place I know of is here, it should be a decent fan.
