Post by noisekiller » Sat Dec 04, 2010 10:42 am

I need a fan from Scythe Slip Stream series 120mm that cann start under 5V. I need it for a DVD reviever , i have 1200rpm version and the fan just ticks, but doesn't spin...

Might be a relatively poor sample. The SPCR review sample started at just 2.4V which is extremely low for a fan. How far below 5V do you need to go?

The problem is that i don't know. I'm not an expert in such things. I just took the fan that has been there and connected red and black wire where the original wires have been. The original fan had only two wires. The original was some 50mm thick fan on the back...it was noisy.

P.S.-sorry my bad english

Depending on how you power maybe not enough current available, battery, power supply or capacitor has enough current
