Sure, no problems (assuming that is 80mm L1A or something else with low watts).
But you will have to work a bit to get the connectors to fit and your wires will probably need to be legthend to reach all parts of the chassi where you want your fans. It you will have both front and rear fans I would recommend that you use at least 2 fanmates just to get the wireing easier.

Wouldn't the startup of 3 fans be too much for the fanmate?

I believe that the circuitry in the Fanmate can take 1.5A without problems.
Also the power drawn by a fan L1A will be much less than what a single powerful high RPM fan will use, and there is no wornng on the fanmate...

I would not hesitate to give it a go. Worst thing that can possibly happen is that you ruin a $5 fanmate.
