Why are there so few reviews of it? Is this a better proc than the 1.45v 45W 2400+ for the same price?

How do mobile 266fsb proc compare to reg barton 333fsb for high performance perposes such as gaming? Is mobile better in performance? It seems u can oc it more, hence better performance right?

I am looking for silence in my computer, but I need all the performance I can get since gaming is it's primary use. If I got this chip I'd put it in a Abit NF7-S or Abit AN7 I think.

For the same price, I'd probably go with the 2400. In reality they're probably about the same: You can undervolt/clock the 2400 to the 2200's specs, and vice versa. But if the money's the same, I'd go with the higher clocked CPU. (it's eventual resale will be higher too) Not having newegg reviews is not something I'd count against any product. The only people who seem to post reviews there are the inane and the ignorant. :wink:

A mobile barton is exactly the same as a regular barton, only running at a lower voltage. (which has no effect on performance) There are plenty of reviews out there comparing the 266fsb and the 333fsb bartons, all of their findings would match with a mobile chip. The advantage of a mobile chip (besides the vcore) is that it's guaranteed fully unlocked, so you can tweak the fsb and multiplier settings until your heart's content. If your RAM supports it, up the FSB to 166 and drop the multiplier. You'll get 333fsb performance, and still keep the wattage low.

And the NF7/AN7 boards are excellent for running mobile chips in. (I've got one in one myself :lol: )

Aside from more oc flexibility, is there any other advantage for mobile chips? Do they run cooler?

Yes, the lower vcore= Lower heat = less airflow required to keep them cool = quieter. :lol:

even at the same voltage they tend to run a little cooler.. they can also withstand more heat.
i'd suggest you run it at the highest fsb you can (atleast 200, providing your ram is up to it), as FSB gives a greater performance increase than the mulitplier (10x200 would be faster than 20x100; but as it is the same mhz, would require the same voltage/[cpu]give off same heat).
increased FSB increases the heat of the motherboard/SB/NB but this shoudln't require extra cooling unless you are going much above 200.

I really got to get into this oc thing! That's all kinda greek to me... I have yet to try overclocking for the first time. :shock:

I'm gonna oc whatever chip I have to at least 3200+ equivelent. Is there an advantage to the 35W vrs the 45W in terms of heat when oc'd to the same speed?

Are the 2500+ better than 2600+ for oc'ing? I mean, 2500+ can be oc'd to exactly 3200+ as I understand. Anyway, newegg has sold a LOT more of the 2500+ than the 2600+ regular bartons. I don't fully understand the reason why to opt for the slower speed... could anyone enlighten me? What mobile proc is best for making the fastest?

I have a 2500 that is unlocked...damn good chip. It does 11x200 on stock volts. I just go a mobile 2600 from newegg....everyone has been ranting about the IQYHA 0351MPMW stepping chips...supposed to o/c like hell....well Newegg shipped me one...wooohooo.

I ran prime 95 on it last night at 12x200 @ 1.625v....2400 mhz. 12 hrs stable. Nice temps too.....nothing over 54c. I'll slowly work my way up to 12.5x210....it should be no problem.

Wish I got one of those mobile XPs. BTW, can u find them as retail versions instead of OEMs?

I read somewhere that they are only available in OEM, period. I forget where, or authenticity of source.

Only OEM. After all, it's supposed to be in a notebook.

I did see Microcenter advertising them in their in-store circular, which I thought was odd.
