Ah yes, the LCR '91 recording. God that's a good one! You bet I've heard it (that's Pierre Hantaï on the hpschd, BTW). I'm probably the world's biggest Savall fan. I have everything he's ever recorded, starting back in the late '60's with his marvelous pre-Hesperion XX SCB/Binkley/DHM stuff.

Maybe if you're listening to a typical, digitally recorded harpsichord on a typical low-mid fi system. Listen to a live harpsichord or a halfway decently recorded harpsichord and you'll fall in love.

You know, a family member of mine also thinks it sounds like scrap metal banging on each other. Unfortunately she doesn't care much about classical music.
