250W PSU + NMB fan... Fried?
Anyone know if the 18CFM 80mm NMB fan can be safely used in a PSU?

It all depends...
Hello:
It all depends on how hot the PSU gets! A relatively efficient 250watt PSU could be fine, but a low efficiency PSU with small heat sinks might not. I would go with a "seat of the pants" guess: compare the air flows of the stock fan w/ the NMB and also estimate the temperture of the exhaust air, and see how you *think* it will do. You could always try the stock fan at lower voltages (unless it already has a variable control circuit) or you could run the NMB at 7volts.
