Slim 80mm fan?

The only one I know about is the Zalman ZM-OP1. Anybody know about this fan as to noise, and ability to undervolt? Is there another brand around?

The only other 80x15mm fan I know of is this Sanyo Denki http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/sandenpetace.html

Its a high quality quiet fan from what I've gathered but expensive.

I've been looking all over for that fan individually hahaha...

i've used the ZM-OP1... lowest i used it was 5V (it comes with zalman's neato molex adapter that gives you two 5V and two 12V fan plugs). obviously it worked fine at 5V. i'd say that it is a tad louder than a L1A at that same voltage. mine didn't have any clicking or buzzing, but i recall a few reports of such noises by others around here. i was using this for spot cooling in an aopen EZ65 and it worked extremely well. i don't think it added any real noise to that system... but of course the stock 70mm heatsink fan and 80mm psu fan are not super quiet.

when i asked dorothy bradbury (unofficial uk panaflo retailer) about 80x15mm fans for a Matx PSU myself

'Panaflo do make an FBA08T12L, 80x80x15mm fan
o Specs are 22cfm, 24dB(A)
o Qty 1 would be £7.99 delivered 1st-Class Insured (they are expensive)
[regular L1A price is £6.99, 25cfm 21dB(A)]

sorry it doesn't help u in the US but i would have thought u'd be able to get them as panaflos are far more widely available there than here.. anyway the zalaman seems like a viable option

Digikey's got 80mmx15mm Panaflos for $10 each, but there's a $5 surcharge for orders under $25.

And it's actually in stock!

SVC and likely some other places have (had?) this hard drive cooler thats essentially a 80x15 fan mounted on a metal plate, to be screwed to the electronics part of a 3.5" drive. I found the fan to be quieter than the Zalman at 12V, and at 5V it's not annoying to me.

The fan's label says "CRE AIR / DC Brushless Fan / Model : DFS801512H / DC 12V 2.0W" and a bunch of regulatory stamps.

I think I paid $5 or so for the whole contraption.

Edit : Found it. I'm no metallurgist, but that material sure doesn't feel like copper to me. Not that it matters for its intended purpose, since it is just a mount and not a heat sink.

The Zalman fan is noisy as hell at full 12V but becomes unexpectedly nice at 5V. Blows enough air too. I know it's a poor comparison but it blowed more air and was quieter than a Vantec Stealth 80x25 at 5V. (5V to 5V comparison)

I bought one of the slim panaflos when I read about it here to replace an OP1 that had suddenly decided to start clicking after about 3months use, it is a little better than the OP1 at 5v (and hopefully will last a bit longer!).

The OP1 would spin up as low as 2v though, which was awesome quiet (I only needed a tiny bit of airflow to cool my vga card). Still, I can live with the panaflo running at 5v, so I'm happy

Very quiet 5-7V just wind noise no clicking etc when aligned vertically, but when horizontal makes some funny noises =/
Using L1A + one of these in my psu.
