DBAdder -- adds up decibels correctly!

Post by MikeC » Wed Mar 16, 2005 8:17 am

It's a little decibel calculator by Kostik, who some of you will know from SPCR forums and from the French site he created www.PCSilencieux.com. DBAdder takes as many decibel values as you have, as long as they are the same type (such as dBA/1m or BEL sound power or...) and computes the total value. No more guessing or estimating or complicated math. It is in beta but works fine AFAI can tell. Download it from our Weblinks / software area and tell us if there's any problems.

Hi, www.PCSilensieux.com should be spelt www.PCSilencieux.com. Also, I can't seem to download the file from your software area - the link just takes me back to the spcr home page.

thanks

Spelling corrected. Just checked the download link -- no problem for me with either Firefox or IE. Maybe try again -- anyone else have download issues?

One thing Kostik did...
Once you have added a few dB values, stop the mouse cursor on the part where the results appear and a small window will show up with the attenuation at various distances. Totally useless so I had to add it.
The assumption is that the entries are in dBA@1m.

I'm home now and the download link works fine. I was using an NT4 (ie5?) machine at work before which may explain why the download didn't start automatically. :D
