Silent Fans in Australia?

Does anyone know of an Australian retailer who sells nexus 120mm fans or a good, cheap place to import them from overseas? This is for a zalman 7700 fan mod.

If that is too costly my only other option for silent 120mm fans is www.pccasegear.com.au who sell these 2 possibilities:

(i understand the silenx fiasco and that 14dba isnt correct but still...)

My plan is to run them at < 1000rpm because my board supports Q-fan. So are either of these fans OK? Will they work in the 7700 fan mod?

You can't get Nexus fans here

I got mine by getting my brother to bring them over from UK when he visited me!

However, people seem to be having good results with the Turbine fans by Aerocool, available from http://www.coolpc.com.au

i live in australia and i get all of my fans from lownoisepc.com. small company run by a dude named Rod, he's really friendly and he only sells quiet stuff

i've bought 2 papst 4412fgl's off him, they're awesome low-speed 120mm fans and i think they'd suit your project well. they're a bit pricey but well worth it.

off topic, i bought 3 "arctic cooling arctic fan 3" fans off him and they're very impressive - more airflow and quieter than a japanaflo 80L.

I've got nexus fans from endpcnoise.com in the US. THey only took a a couple of weeks to get here.

I've sourced the GlacialTech Silentblade in Sydney. I got mine from Apus (www.apus.com.au) located in Kingsford (near UNSW- eastern suburbs) for $15. Search for it, theres threads on it.

Quick specs:
37CFM, 19dBA

yes i would like to know too, on their site it lists USPS International for $11 and UPS Worldwide for $57.

yeh that does seem cheap. when i ordered a dvd from america (region-free of course) it cost US$20 for shipping! it was about the same weight as 1 or 2 fans, package size not too different either.

get a quote from them by email, i.e. get them to tell you in words how much it will cost. and then it'll be guaranteed

USPS (US Postal Service) international rates are reasonable for light weight items. Fans are very light weight. As mentioned, no tracking on international postal, and probably more likely to be lost or stolen.

What about ordering Yate Loon D12SL-12s @tekgems.

They ship with USPS International Global Express Mail, it's not too expensive (At least for many fans). You also get a tracking number and email updates about your shipping status. Ordered there twice, first time 55 fans second time 70 fans. No problems.

My thoughts on the fan.

Enclosed in a case, I suspect they'd be good for a nearly silent CPU fan mod, but not silent.

www.lownoisepc.com also sell the papst in Australia... $35. Couple of different speeds.

ok i just placed an order for 2 nexus fans from endpcnoise.com
Total cost after exchange rate - around $56 (cheaper than the pccasegear.com.au option)

But i guess i'll have to wait and see what actually gets charged to my CC.

Slidax - given the prices that that Australian retailer is charging, it is really sad that you have to order OVERSEAS to save money.

On the positive side, you should really be pleased with the Nexus. It's le-creme-de-crop for SPCR.

The main reason i ordered from overseas was that they had the product i wanted.

If pccasegear or other AU shops had the product i wanted i wouldnt mind spending $10 more and get it from here without the risk of goods being lost in shipping.

Oh well, so long as they arrive in 1 piece im happy

Yeah. WE don't get Nexus(es) in Australia.. Oh well I have my Glacialtech's they are a-okay.

And Acoustipack is in New Zealand too, which can be shipped to Australia..

I just don't think buying 2 or 3 fans from overseas is worth it.. Group buy:)

Yeah but have you seen the price? After GST they're more than twice the price they are at endpcnoise.com. No idea what the delivery charge would be either.

Reckon we should start lobbying pccasegear.com.au to start importing them. Maybe if enough of us do it they'll realise there's a market?

so basically the total cost of each fan when you factor in shipping is $28.11
i guess it isnt too bad when a cheapish fan costs around $15 and a panaflo costs $35 here. australian distributors get your act together!

i did the zalman fan swap and now i can hear my antec TPII and hard drives lol, ah well i think my computers quiet enough now
