Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower Cooler delayed

Post by TailsNZ » Wed Jul 13, 2005 9:48 pm

Doh!

I got this email today from Quiet PC: "Late yesterday I received a call from Zalman informing us here that there is a delay in production of the CNPS9500. This will push back the arrival date to late August or maybe even into September."

At the lowest Fanmate setting, the fan is still audable, even though Zalman advertises it as "silent mode"

most new motherboards have some sort of fan speed controller built in..coupled with a fanmate, couldn't the zalman fans become nearly inaudible?

I could never get a Zalman fan down to silent. It stops before it ever gets quiet enough. This is "quiet enough by SPCR standards" I mean.

the fan in my 7000 got down to quieter than my psu, but i only figured that out by sticking my head down there, the ambient noise in my apartment is louder than the fans, unless of course i get right up next to it..

I want one that doesn't have the annoying blue led fan. Why do all these manufacturers automatically default to blue? What if I want a different color scheme for my case?

1) because blue is usually easier to see than any other color when other light is present (its the brightest)
2) blue fits in with more color schemes than any other color
3) more people like blue than any other particular color

and finally
4) because thats what the first company did and everybody didnt want to rock the boat by changing it.

No, green is the brightest. I think blue might actually be the darkest. Also, red and green are the easiest LED's to make, and to make bright.

i don't see how. Blue plus red equals magenta(purple).

They'd better just make one with an opaque fan, because controlling the voltage going to LED fans makes the LED's blink and look terrible.

That might help.

I wonderwhen they'll ship some sample to the reviewer like SPCR, Anandtech, Tom's Harware!!!! I wanna see some real test, because we all known what manufacturer says isn't always true.
