I thought I'd try being a plant this time! (Moavar)

That was actually the easy decision. I still haven't worked out what I'm going to do re strategy. Maybe something will come to me!

I'm going to Oz, and not Australia, this round. Look for my Ruby Slippers. As always, one branch of the Yellow Brick Road leads to SPCR.

However, after the recent troubles, I'll admit I'm not planning on putting a huge amount of effort into things. I started late and am being inconsistent in logging in). Of course, if/when things really get going, I may change my mind.

Clearly Anubis is already missed this round. :)

Alas, I'm having ongoing problems with SR's new "home" server. I haven't been able to login to the forums for a couple of days, nor the regular account for a day. I've also been having long stretches of timeouts for the past several days. *sigh* Stormy weather. *sigh* I suspect my planet's crawling with foreign agents by now.

As I said, I don't think I'm going invest heavily in this round.

Or, are the connection problems just mine?

They're not just yours, though most of my problems are server errors; HTTP 500, or everything acting as binary files. Zippit posted a message saying the DB server was down and data may have been lost - it hadn't for me, thankfully - but there's more to it than that.

However, being the persistent chap I am I did manage to log on and remove some agents (someone sent 8 at once! 8) ). Keep trying, it seems to switch between broken and working every 30-50 minutes.

This has become a definite exercise in patience

I wish they would, at least, move the SR forum to a separate machine/connection.

All the server troubles really screwed me up (from not being able to log in to the DB issues.

I don't think I'll be doing to great this round.

I tried to create a planet last weekend. After several tries ending in database errors, I gave up. Maybe I'll try again next round.

I think the database errors were fixed on Monday. However we're already 50 years in so (unless you choose a research race) it probably isn't worth it.

current time shows we're going for 400 years. Is this just an error?

Eitherway my sucky slump continues.

Don't think it's an error. It was requested

First of all, thanks for your patience, guys'n'gals.

SR V1 is still running from my secondary "home" machine. I think the major bugs have been fixed (read: it doesn't suck up 100% cpu when accessing certain screens). Can you give me any feedback on how stable it's been for the past week or so? It's hard for me to gauge myself; considering I'm testing it from the same local network.

I'm still working on code updates and another "project" that might just distract you for a while so I can work on SR more. More news on that later. I've also utilized a generous donation to purchase a "Virtual" dedicated server package, and I've installed SR V1 on it as of this time, but haven't installed the forums yet. We'll likely try the next round from that locale.

Again, thanks for your patience and continued interest!

Thanks for all your hard work Vork.

It's been prety stable for me. Odd bouts of slowness, but complete timeouts have been pretty rare. Seems to go in streaks: sometimes it loads super-fast, and you can click through screens or missions lickety-split, but then a few hours later it will grind almost to a halt.

So not even a hint of what's to come? I promise we won't tell anybody.

I'm having basically the same experiance as Rusty. Though it seems to have improved a lot in the past week or so.

Any timeouts were very short (refreshing almost always remedied this).

This new project intruiges me.

Occasional timeouts during turn changes that simply go away with a refresh - much much better than with the old host :)

Looks like we're coming up on the 250 years left mark...

How's everybody doing?

Myself, I'm turtling along about midpack, keeping quiet and minding my own business. Which is exactly where I want to be. Since this may be my last SR round for a long time, I'd love it if I could go the whole round without "interruptions" from other planets. I've been refining this particular strategy for like 5 rounds, and it would be nice to see how it works without my having to rebuild from scratch halfway through every time.

burcakb's revelation was a nice twist :) Myself, I'm going to have 3 starbases in 40 months, the first time I've ever built them! It would be a shame if they didn't get tested out, but I don't exactly want people to know what I'm up to either...

I loved the strip tease. Chris, you'll beat me by just a few months but I'll have more than you after that. :D

Curiously, I've been rather lacksadaisical this round, after being a bit weary of Stellar Interruptus the last coupld of rounds. Yes, somehow my mostly turtling has put me in the upper tier again. Most of my diplomatic stances are "unknown", I haven't aligned to any faction, and just pop in once in a while to tend the fields or put something in commerce.

Anyone know who Dune was in previous incarnations? S/he's been doing a fine and entertaining job. Davros/SoFa/ScooterGuy/TinMan had quite a go at it, too. until a bit of technical hubris caught up with him.

A seperate forum for us SR players was discussed a while ago but nothing came of it, so I created one on my webspace.

Registration is open right now but will be closed near the start of the next round (any intruders found will be placed under 'Vendetta' ;)). Guests can't view the discussion forum.

I registered.

I also have hosting again (for at least a year), but does SR still put out stats? (I haven't checked ohmm's old page).

I registered too.

Nice job on the web site!

Unfortunately, Stellar Realms discontinued making the Galaxy Overview data available for external applications, hence the stats do not update.

For the forum, yes (SR itself still has places AFAIK). Send me a PM with your username/email and I'll create an account.

No, the new round most probably starts on the first of march on the new server. http://www.primeaxiom.com/sr/ At least that was what Zippit wrote when I looked earlier today.

Round 13 is starting in a little less than one hour. I have created my planet, as the SPCR players who kept the same name probably know. I'll PM the rest in case I want to get aggressive ;)

Ummm, who all in SPCR are playing this round? I can't tell from most planet names.

I hope old SPCR'ers will forgive me, but I'm trying a different strategy this round and will not automatically help SPCR'ers at first. Shhh, I'm quietly anonymous for a while but, if I know who you are, I won't immediately go after SPCR'ers...at least right away.
