I know it's impossible to speculate on unreleased motherboards, but does anybody know if there is any reason to think that a Scythe Ninja (SCNJ-1000P) won't fit on a nForce5 Conroe MB?
Thanks.

that depends entirely on the motherboard itself, not the chipset
the only thing that would stop it would be poorly placed components - the mounting holes are identical to current LGA775

Thanks--That's what I figured. I heard DFI is making a LanParty board sporting the nForce5 chipset for Conroe. Too bad they can't release a "Premium" edition or something that includes passive chipset cooling.

You could always get your own passive chipset cooling... Thermalright makes a bunch of good solutions.

Any ideas if low level Conroes could be cooled fanlessly?

GamingGod: Thermalright XP-120, with LGA775 kit.
gevorg: Yes, assuming peripheral airflow.

Greetings,
Here's "visual proof" of passive air cooling of the E6700, over at AnandTech:
click here if image doesn't work...
...and go to page 3, near the bottom.
BTW, to see any images in an AnandTech article, I have to disable my Kerio firewall -- and then I get all their ads as well...
[Edit: I stand corrected -- there does appear to be a fan under the cover...]

I believe that particular heatsink has a 120mm fan that rests "inside" the fin bank.
The Tuniq Tower is often sometimes referred to as the best air cooling when paired with a high-speed fan.
