P180 Lower drivebay stuck

Greetings,

I've had my p180 for months now, and ever since I completed building my hardware in it the lower drivebay has been stuck

Now the badpart is that I only have one hardrive (Seagate 250GB) And it's in this drivebay..

I've tried just about anything to get it out, I took out the other sideplate and pushed on it while pulling from the other side, didn't work.

Took out all the hardware and it's still stuck!

And yes I didn't forget to take the thumbscrew out

Some help would be most appreciated since the little bugger gets quite hot (40-45 degrees with this weather)

Never encountered this.... not sure what anyone can say, except the obvious and goofy (take out the screwdrive that's keeping it wedged in place, dissove the glue you spilled on it...

), unless they've run into the same thing.

He did say he took the thumbscrew out.

The only thing I can suggest is that take both sidepanels and front panels off and try to actually understand why won't it move. The whole construction is quite simple, I don't see what could be the problem there, so hopefully you'll be able to see what's causing it.

Perhaps you put it in wrong, so it's not sitting loosely in the slot, but wedged in the wrong position? Could it be at a slight angle? If you can't figure out a better method, brute force (perhaps even holding a piece of wood against it and tapping the wood with a hammer*) may be necessary.

*Less likely to cause damage. This trick can be used on all sorts of things that would dent or scratch under a direct hammer blow.

Try wiggling the drive bay forward a bit. I have this issue in my P180 as well. The problem is that the hard drive sometimes get caught on the side of the case, so if you can stick a finger in there and try to nudge the hard drive out a little you'll be able to get it out.

Well I tried nearly all sollutions in this topic and I am afraid none of them did the trick

Any other ideas ? Getting pretty down here

The drive cages fit inside the case via plastic interlocking channels, there's really nothing that could hold it in place without the thumbscrew.... I'd suggest checking for any obstruction or bent metal edges...

Take pics of all angles if you'd like, maybe our eyes will catch something you missed.

ive been having this problem, and managed to find out the culprit, its the edge of my hdd getting caught on the front metal bit of the case, so what i usually do is push back the hdd thats getting caught(usually the 2nd or 3rd slot) and slide the cage out
