Biostar Tforce p965 Deluxe allows 1.0V undervolt

Post by autoboy » Thu Sep 07, 2006 8:45 am

Found this artilce that shows the biostar tforce p965 board can undervolt to 1.0V. Besides the oddly placed ATX conector, it has all the basics a quiet enthusiast could want on a motherboard for C2D. I'm really starting to like the Tforce line of boards. I now have 2 of them for S754 and they work out great! :D

Does it have Firewire onboard?

Looks good. No Firewire. Doesn't seem to have memory issue like other P965. ICH8R and not the ICH8 southbridge.

Now, where can I buy one!

I have this motherboard, and am running my E6600 at 1.02 volts and 7x multiplier (1.86GHz) passively cooled in an mCubed case.

At prolonged 100% CPU load CoreTemp shows the core temperature at 50 degrees C (SpeedFan shows CPU temp at 43 degrees C).

The BIOS of the board does not allow any underclocking, which was a disappointment, so I ended up actually overvolting the processor in BIOS, and then underclocking and undervolting in Windows using CrystalCPUID.

Pretty happy with the result. I had a lot of problems originally, but those turned out to be caused by faulty RAM.
