They're probably just confused with the 900 http://www.overclocker.com.cn/index.php ... 5&Itemid=2 there's a post in this thread that says it has a see through side-panel, though you don't see it in those pictures http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php? ... ight=antec

It's hard to see the front, but he way the drive cage and front bezel are made, I think it's their answer to big cases such as the Coolermaster Stacker.Chris Chan wrote:Now that I see the 900, I realise I was thinking along those lines. Except for a Performance One-worthy bezel and a partition above the psu.

Nice to see all the bays are 5.25". Improves mounting options considerably. I'd be somewhar concerned about the lack of filtration on that huge top fan. With no top shroud/protection it's just begging for dust and other particulate matter to filter into the rig. Or depending on location liquid in the event of a spilled beverage.
The nicest case I've seen for flexibility sin;t made anymore and it was a rugged workhorse - PC Power and Cooling's all steel full tower. 10 5.25" bays and solid as a rock. Easily cooled too.

Any pics or links to that case?NyteOwl wrote:Nice to see all the bays are 5.25". Improves mounting options considerably. I'd be somewhar concerned about the lack of filtration on that huge top fan. Thanks.

Thanks.
Actually, I have discovered this case is still available ( http://www.calpc.com/catalog/full_tower.html ) as it was apparently OEMed from http://www.calpc.com who make quite a range of steel cases.
They tend not to be the most aesthetic of cases but are quite functional. The case above is their "Full Tower" model. There is a smaller 8 bay mid tower, a 16 bay large server, and a 32 bay super server. The latter two cases will hold two complete systems.

Reminds me of my old Supermicro,..http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/ ... ro_sc750a/
Its still a great case that stood the test of time.
Maybe I should resurrect it one more time?
I slapped a set of castors on it, at least it pushes nice now.
The fans are a little loud though.

That's a joke.... right? Please tell me it's a joke.Shadowknight wrote:They're probably just confused with the 900 http://www.overclocker.com.cn/index.php ... 5&Itemid=2 there's a post in this thread that says it has a see through side-panel, though you don't see it in those pictures http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php? ... ight=antec
That front is a look-a-like of the Thermaltake Armor's front *shudders*

Whew, I'm not alone. Overall I don't think the concept is too bad, I was hoping they would come out with something along the lines of a p180/p150 mix and a little smaller than the 180. But I can't get over the top, LED fans and side window. Guess Antec feels they need to reach out to the l33t crowd a bit more. But hey if spoilers, scoops and lights make ricers go faster, it's gotta work for computers too right?I agree rpsgc. That's hideous. Antec's designers must have been smoking something strong.
That's a Thermaltake, no other way to put it.mbetea wrote:Whew, I'm not alone. According to ocforums, Antec's offical explaination is that it's meant to hold stuff like MP3 players, blackberries, whatever small items that are plugged into a computer like that; decreases the chance they'll fall off vs. just lying them on top of a flat top of a case. What is that on the top, between the ports and the fan, a candy dish?
So it's not a helicopter landing pad ?Shadowknight wrote:According to ocforums, Antec's offical explaination is that it's meant to hold stuff like MP3 players, blackberries, whatever small items that are plugged into a computer like that; decreases the chance they'll fall off vs. just lying them on top of a flat top of a case. What is that on the top, between the ports and the fan, a candy dish?

Nah, I think it's a place for all your purple-anodized thumscrews with skulls on them, and a stock of spare CCL tubes to keep lan'ing well past 10pm... 3xtR3m3! w00t! etc.
Personally, I like cases with flat, solid tops- they're so multifunctional! My case doubles-up as a bedside table, footstool, general-purpose shelf, anvil... the list goes on. Anyone who's ever caught their toe in or spilled beer down a running fan would agree that the most useful cases have a solid, flat top. I realise top vents are useful for airflow, but ducting works just as well.
Back on topic... I can see that door falling off after a few tries, it looks pretty flimsy to me.
