Cool, quiet extra storage, <7200rpm, >300gb

I use a raptor as system disc. As storage one samsung spinpoint T and one samsung HA250, both spinning around 5400 rpms. That makes them quiet and above all cool. The samsungs hang there without any cooling at all. My case is full, there's no way I can squeeze in a drive with dedicated cooling.

Now I need more storage. The drive can't spin 7200 because it would overheat. Buying under 300 Gb seems silly, now that my case is so cramped. That rules out any samsung. 2.5" cost too much. Anybody knows where to look?

SPCR ought to have a "backup disc" test or recommendation list. Can we create one? I'd like to add the slower samsungs to that list but I need something bigger this time around.

LOL, you're saying that and you've got a Raptor? 40C is like 15C below max. op. temp.

The Raptor is hanging in a Vertical Silence box just behind the front intake fan. No room for another drive there. Whatever I add must do fine without any airflow in a warm (isolated) case.
My old Samsungs can handle it only because they spin slowly. They run very very cool and still hits 45C because of the poor airflow I sport. Don't want to force my Nexuses over 200 rpm just because of a hot new HDD.

Look, there is no 3.5" hdds quieter than samsung. It is a little bit hotter than the WD, but nothing to worry. So, there are no new hard drives which are cold. That's the way it is...
