can my nexus ne4090 handle this spec? would it be borderline or well within psu capabilities at full load + overclock?

Hi hugekebab, the video card is the biggest powere consumer in your proposed system. I believe the 7950gx2 is similar to the Radeon 1900XTX at 110-120w max load. I think I saw figures for 8800GTX of 130-140w, the GTS will be less. The CPU is rated by Intel at 65w, I think DVD-RWs get up to ~25w, the HDDs are ~10w each, say 20w for the mobo and another 10w for everything else. This gets us to 280w, well within the capacity of 400w and more importantly inside the max 12v capacity of ~350w as modern PC draw most (~90%) power from 12v line.
With heavy overclocking (particularly overvolting) you might start to get uncomfortably close. On the other hand there’s an article around on the net with someone running Quad core / 8800GTX SLI system on a 500w PSU so it likely my figures are higher than true load!
If you’ve already got the Nexus I’d give it a go, it’ll work but may not be over quiet under full load. If you need a new PSU I suggest a Seasonic (430w or more) or Corsair HX520W that was recently reviewed.

Should be fine. My psu calc specs it at under 400w even with overclocking, and theres plenty of 'headroom' in the calcs currently. May not be that quiet however, as suggested something like corsair or seasonic will do better as they maintain lower fan speeds at much higher loads (up to 300w compared to under 100w for nexus), so even when gaming a corsair or seasonic should be silent.
