That is the stuff!

I have no need for it (now) though.
But I sent them a mail with ideas for HS's.

I guess this was just a logical step. It remains to be seen if it's ever getting on the market.

I've always wondered why the heatpipes on the original Ninja were not spread out like on this mini one. It would distribute the heat better and would allow more airflow directly around the heatpipes.

Maybe a Ninja 2 with this heatpipe arrangement is coming?

Great news. There has been a big hole in the market for a really superior half-height H/S that will fit in most HTPCs; Mini Ninja looks like just the thing. I hope it is not more expensive than the standard Ninja!

Shouldn't be, but it wouldn't be less expensive either (at least not by much). Major costs such as heatpipe costs, and putting base/heatpipes/fins together will remain the same.

110*110*115.

Looks like a winner for the NSK2400!

But I'm still lacking a good AM2 cooler for my <78mm height requirement, :(

Perhaps someone has been monitoring this forum and has seen the light.

If the performance holds out (can't see why it wouldn't) and the price is right, they have my dollar.

I seem to remember that MikeC asked Scythe to bring this HS to the market, at last it seems to be happening, but who will get the pat on the back.???

Hmm. They were showing it last year and didn't produce it for sale. I guess they cleaned off the dust to have something else to show this year. The situation has improved for prospective buyers how? :(

Argh, now I must delay my HTPC-build until I get my hands on one of those.. or run the stock Intel HSF, brrr..

Anyone heard anything new about the availability of the revised Fusion btw?

Anybody knows if this will have the push-pin mounting mechanism for 775 or screw on with backplate?

Do you think a 92mm fan will fit on the Mini? Or is it going to be 80mm? Sometimes you have sooo many things around you socket - RAM, VRM's, NB heatsinks...

The specifications say that the fan is 80mm.

So the advantage of a nice quiet 120mm fan is lost :(
Makes the XP-120 look a good option if a fan is required

I don't know if it'll fit in a slim Antec case, maybe the Noctua NH-U9F will

This will not fit in half-height cases like the Antec minuet, neither will the noctua NH-U9F.

I've just heard back from a UK distributor for Scythe who said
As far as we are aware the mini ninja is not in production yet.

well, if you have one of those media cases with a 120mm exhaust.... or two like the antec fusion.... you could just make them intake fans blowing on this.

Woot, so it is real. They showed it last year, but it didn't go into production. Given the latest pictures it seems scythe is finally serious about putting it on the market.

That almost makes me want to put Mini-Ninja on my system instead Noctua Tower. I have Ninja but it did not fit on my current system. But anyway, that is serious contender for HTPC set up. And it looks great.

I'll not be building my HTPC for a month or so and I hope it will have made it beyond Japan (& at a reasonable price) by then.

I hope it performs good/cool enough to cool my E4400 passive in my NSK2400 with one/two Yate Loons as exhausts.
It just looks better than the SI-128.:P

The mini has 17 cooling fins, including the undersized bottom one; the Ninja has 23. One of the reasons the larger Ninja has good performance is that it is large. I'm going to try the mini myself, but please expect a dropoff of cooling performance on the smaller unit. There will be a dropoff, alas.

Buy a cool-running CPU (easy to do nowadays) and don't overclock it!
