Antec Phantom 350 - how much can it power?

Post by One » Tue Jul 17, 2007 7:40 am

I have the rear grilles removed with a Papst fan blowing air through it. I have it outside the case.
Is 350watts the limit or can it do higher with the fan?

I have AMD 3000+, 2GB RAM, 2 harddrives, 1 fan.

Is it possible to connect a 8800gtx into the Phantom?

In theory yes, but that 3000+ will bottleneck hard your GTX.

I'm going to use 2560x1600 with everything on max.

Maybe I should get a 8800GTS 320MB? Which will be the bottleneck?

With a bottlenecked graphics card I always had to spend an hour optimizing the settings before I could play, and then I got bored of the game in 15 minutes... I just want to start the game with everything on max and not worry about it. I want the CPU to be the bottleneck because it saves me an hour.
