Where to get foam air filter? Installing side fan(and hole)
Hello,
I have built a system with four SAS cards and a video card - the sas cards run very warm. The case does not have a side hole for cards - I want to install one. I figure I should use a foam air filter over the hole as the area is usually dusty. I have no idea where to get thin form for filtering.

Depending on the size of fan you want to drill a hole for, you can get pre-made 80/92/120mm fan filters + holders for next to nothing. E.G. :

You can also obtain metal mesh filters which work fairly well for larger particles like hair:

That's easy.....Here it is. Just be careful your foam filter doesn't get sucked in.......or your dog.

22cm fans typically have 100CFM/20dB. So 200CFM/60dB is not unbeatable, especially considering that 20dB is wayyyyy more than 3 times quieter than 60dB. Someone else could probably expound on undervolting (I don't know the equations that apply)-- I'm guessing that it's not worthwhile.Solid Snake wrote:Hmm... it claims to have an unbeatable CFM/dB ratio. Has anyone tried undervolting this thing?
