Hi guys!

I dont know how interested you are in new thermal paste? But I thought you might like to know anyway.

Vienna, 13th November 2007 - Noctua presented today a new premium-grade
thermal compound for enthusiasts who demand both exceptional performance
and maximum ease of use: NT-H1 is a hybrid compound of different
micro-particles that allows for minimum thermal resistance, excellent
ease of use and outstanding long-term stability.

"Many current TIM solutions have drawbacks either in terms of
performance or ease of use", explains Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO.
"Enthusiasts in particular, who frequently change their coolers, demand
both first class performance and trouble-free handling though. Our NT-H1
combines these two features and provides all the performance,
reliability and quality that Noctua users have come to expect from our
products."

NT-H1 exhibits extremely low thermal resistance as well as excellent
pliability and spreadability. As a result, the compound is not only
highly efficient but also very easy to use because there's no need to
smear it over the heat-spreader: Put one drop of NT-H1 onto the centre
of your CPU, install the cooler and that's it! NT-H1 provides top
performance right from the start and doesn't require a longer "burn-in"
time. If you happen to make a mess, that's no problem at all: NT-H1 is
not electrically conductive and fully compatible with all materials
commonly used in PC environments.

In addition to its excellent performance and handling, NT-H1 provides
decisive advantages in terms of reliability and long-term stability:
Thanks to its exceptional curing, bleeding, dry-out und thermal cycling
characteristics, NT-H1 can be used for several years without any problems.

Love it how they won't just come out and say what the hell is in it. Could be toothpaste for all we know... and microparticles? EVERYTHING IS COMPOSED OF MICROPARTICLES!

(and I'm pretty sure at least Colgate has 'cleansing microgranulars' in their toothpastes, uh oh)

Good to know, maybe some daring soul can test it and do some comparisons. In the meantime, Arctic Silver for the win.

I don't know what's wrong with me, but I've found no problems applying any brand of thermal paste, and for the most part, it never seems to make any difference in thermal transfer.

Then again, I never could see the difference the $200 monster video cables and the $4 double extra happy dragon brand.

That's because Monster Cable is horribly overpriced and you're never going to get anywhere near the performance of the price tag.

I recently used a really cheap "freebie" RCA cable, made my music sound horrible. Sounds much better through my Monster Cable reference 2 interconnects. Seems like it's well worth the money in that instance.

The real question is the difference between a halfway decent Belkin pure AV cable for $15 and my $75 monster cables. But I dont' care, I got a massive discount on my monster cable, and they come w/ a no BS lifetime guarentee (and yes, cables can go bad)

All thermal pastes work just as well as long as they're applied properly, so there's no reason to favour a certain brand on a performance basis in regular conditions. I'm sticking with Arctic Silver, as it has served me well thus far and I can still use the syringe I bought back when I got my 1GHz T-bird.

No sign of performance decline after six years, I'd say that's proper.

I wonder how well top thermal pastes actually work over regular Golgate with peppermint flavour?

I might just try Noctua's stuff... I haven't seen MX-2 anywhere in FInland as of yet.

Toothpaste works pretty well as a temporary measure, but it dries out very fast... and once its dry, say goodbye to heat conduction, and hello to overheating!

You beat me to it! After reading that a while ago I've become an arch-sceptic when it comes to claims about thermal paste!
