Fascianting idea! Thanks for the link! I'll see if one can be built for inclusion in the UBC Fan project - http://www.silentpcreview.com/modules.p ... =45&page=1
Yeah it seems very limited or useless for computer cases: 15L/min, that's only 0.53 CFM.stingpd wrote:air pump (silent) but with a very limited air flow

Noren Products Enclosures ...came up recently in Article Reviews...

"To make the units more compact and affordable, the ACL-RC series uses custom-tuned electrostatic air movers to assist in the removal of heat. The air movers stealthily pull air across the outer fins of our heat pipes, allowing us to use a smaller external fin stack."
I wonder what that's about? Electrostatic speaker? Electrostatic air propulsion like ionizers? Interesting any way you slice it...
Still, I think that subwoofers seem like the practical technology: Easy to drive with common circuits, cheap, efficient. I wonder if very light check valves could be used instead of the 'jet' effect. Would allow for true air pumping, like for CPU. Probably possible with proper tuning.

It also adds 14 W of heat to the case. Even if placed externally that's non-negligable.shunx wrote:Yeah it seems very limited or useless for computer cases: 15L/min, that's only 0.53 CFM.stingpd wrote:air pump (silent) but with a very limited air flow
