Pre-installation Cosmos 1000 build

Post by abirdie4me » Tue Aug 19, 2008 8:20 pm

I built this several months ago and took a few poor photos before assembly. I ripped the entire case apart, dremeled the hell out of it, painted it, and put it back together. I also painted the sides of the case red, but they turned out pretty bad (under desk, so not too noticeable to anyone but me).

Current specs:

e6850 @ 3.7ghz
TRUE 120
Asus P5k Deluxe
2 Scythe Slipstream 120mm fans
4 Scythe S-Flex 21e
Corsair HX 620
ATI radeon 4720 @ 810/975 (accelero S1 Rev 2)
8gb Mushkin ddr800
2 x WD Raptor 150 in Raid 0

I'll be replacing the cpu in a couple weeks, will take better pics then. Sorry in advance for poor picture quality....

Haha nice job with the binder clip! The red interior of the case goes really nice with the 4870. :) Just wondering as its a bit hard to tell from the pic, is the S1 running passive on the 4870?

Yep, running it passive...45 C idle, up to around 65 C after a couple hours of Crysis. The fan in the foam at the back of the 5.25 drive bays is pointing down on the card, but I'd still like to keep it below 60 if possible.

Gonna be doing some tinkering with this case soon, try to find a way to duct the airflow from the bottom intake directly onto the 4870.

Looks nice!

Can the door still close with the fancontroller in it? I'm still looking for a good controller, but thought the door didn't close with this one (just like nearly all others).

If it doesn't I might as well take my door off and fix some damping :)

The door does close, but I had to adjust the controller to fit back in the 5.25 bay about a centimeter.

Ok, cool. I'm ordering one now, fitting it more to the back isn't going to be much of a problem for me ;)
