Any silent 80mm low noise slim fan?

Post by Mates » Tue Aug 19, 2008 7:57 am

Hi everyone

I am currently trying to make my HTPC a silent one. Now i need advice from the experts :)

I have to make a fan swap in my PSU, its a 80 plus Antec MT-350. To do this i need a 80mm fan, but it needs to be a slim one... thats why it seems i can't find one just by googling.

I have opened the PSU and the fan that is currently in there is an ADDA fan.

Thanks in advance!

You could try a 80x15mm NMB-MAT from Dorothy Bradbury. There's no room beside the PSU to mount a fan on the outside of the PSU?

Yeah from my experience the San Ace is better than the NMBs from Dorothy.

Excuse the hijack but my Centurion 590 case has an 80mm fan spot on the side of the case, behind the motherboard. In my case, it seems to get warm around there. Nothing that would alarm me but warm. I tried my 80x25mm Panaflo L1A there and it was too big so obviously Id need a slim fan.

Would there be any point to me using one? If so, Intake or Exhaust? Also, Im in the UK. Where could I pick up a Sanyo Denki slim 80mm if one was a good idea?
