What's the quietest PSU that's widely available for under $50 (say USD)?

This one will be hard to beat for the price and it comes in just over $50 with the promo. Of course, depending on your needs, you may be able to get away with less power and save a little more coin. Stick with reputable manufacturers like Corsair, Seasonic, FSP, and Antec in that price range and don't get caught up in the wattage hype. A solid 350-400W will power about any machine that has an interest in silence.

I was just reading the recent review by Anandtech and discovered the same model. One thing I noticed in the review was that the two Seasonic units reviewed, S12-II 330w and SS-400ET, were not quieter than most other models tested.

Don't forget the Earthwatts 430. $40 at Newegg with Free Shipping. Done right, it's very quiet (for an 80mm cooled unit).
