Sapphire 3850 AGP and AC S1 rev.2

Post by mits » Mon Feb 16, 2009 4:02 am

Hello everybody,
as it is obvious from the title, i would like to know if anybody has put the AC S1 rev.2 on an ATI 3850 AGP and more specifically to this model
http://www.sapphiretech.com/us/products ... =227&grp=2
Are there any diffrences between PCI Express and AGP model as far as the heat sink mounting holes are concerned?
Thanks in advance.

Hello mits,

That topic was already discussed in this thread :
viewtopic.php?t=48079
which points you to this thread :
http://www.octeamdenmark.com/forums/sho ... php?t=1421
where you see there is no difference in mounting holes spacing

Otherwise with a quick search on google :
http://www.segundamano.es/vi/13266613.htm?ca=21_s
http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=261855 (homberg post)
You see it's already been done by others !

And if you still need convincing, my own Sapphire HD3850 also has an accelero installed :-)

I also put a small heatsink on the AGP/PCIE bridge (might not be needed) and made sure to keep the VRM heatsink and install the RAMsinks properly and the card is running quite well !

Hope it helps !

Happy Tinkering !
