No sound measurements, but power consumption is there.
I'm still clueless about what drives to buy :/

I am still officially clueless about which drives to buy.
I need two, for RAID-1. All HDDs die sooner or later, so that's the only thing I will consider. I still do backups, but full imaging to a second drive at least once per week... Just no.
Right now, my computer holds a pair of 320 GB Hitachi T7K500 drives. That model isn't present on StorageReview, so I've chosen the 500 GB version, which should be sufficiently similar, except that my drives use two platters, whereas this one uses three.

According to this, my drives are *quieter* in idle than everything but the WD GPs. I can hear the Hitachis in idle; seek doesn't bother me THAT much, I like knowing when my HDD does something... But that information isn't present in the table.
On the other hand, SPCR says there's a massive difference in sound levels: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article904-page2.html
So, like I said, I'm still clueless. There just doesn't seem to be a drive worth getting as an upgrade. The Samsung did okay on the X-bit Labs test, but didn't excel, the Hitachis are probably too loud (like the WD Black), and I don't trust the GP drives with their head unloading crap.
