I emailed Logitech - I'll see if they have an answer.

As to your second reply, that kind of response is why I (and no doubt others) hesitate to even post questions on this and other forums. If I wanted to ask about wired versus wireless, I would have asked that question.

For the record, this forum does seem to have less flame wars and non-responsive answers than others.

Actually, you laugh, but my wireless LX5 does whine faintly when in battery-saving mode.
