Pre-Cut Acoustipack kit for the Sonata is released.

Looks like AcoustiProducts finally finished the pre-cut kit for the Antec Sonata. However, it looks like only our UK & Swedish members can take advantage for now.

From all the tips they list, it may be a pretty tricky install

That looks awesome. I would love to see a Sonata with that all installed.

The last time I talked to the AcoustiProducts Rep, he said N/A suppliers would have this product within weeks of its release.

I don't think it would be harder than any other dampening material install. In fact, with all the pre-cut pieces I think it would be easier.

Sounds like a good idea, although I'd be worried about this:-

"The acoustic foam pieces are designed to occupy unused void space inside the case, and serve to reduce internal volume and absorb internally generated noise. For example, fitting of one of the large blocks supplied into the void space under the HDD cage serves to 'duct' airflow from the front of the case through the HDD cage, therefore aiding HDD cooling."

That may be so, but surely it would have an impact on temps throughout the rest of the case?

Akasa Paxmate is rubbish. It muffles the sound a fraction but changes the tone of the sound (from high to low) rather than reducing noise by any significant (or even noticeable) amount. The temperature of my case / CPU increased by 2-3 degrees C as well.
