Whistle/beep until I close all programs?

Even when I just browse the internet, at some point it begans to whistle/beep "wheeeeeehh - wheeeh...". Then I close browser and it quietens down. What could cause this type of noise?

What is "it" ? Display ? Computer ? Speakers ?

it's the computer. And when I alt+tab out of the game, it's quiet while the screen is black.

PSU or graphics card whine. It happens, you should narrow it down to one of these and try to replace it.

So the whine is definately comming from the PC case? or is it your monitor?

it could also be the Graphics card causing interference thats comming out your speakers.

One thing you can try is to turn off your monitor while things are whining. if the whine goes away, then chances are good its your monitor thats the source of things?
