Hi,
I would like to mount my 1TB hard disk (which will be a WD green or Samsung Ecogreen) using a 5,25" docking station (that way I can use my hd either as an internal or external one)
I know only about this one:
Raidsonic ICY BOX
Does anybody know if there's anything recommended on the silent side?
Thanks A LOT!

No experience with the device in question.
There are a lot of PATA 5 1/4" removable hard disk bays around.
One might take a look at them to see if one could adapt them
for use with your (presumably SATA drive).
If there was enough space inside, one might be able to shoehorn in a
PATA to SATA converter (assuming your motherboard has a PATA port).
(Managing the SATA power might be a bit more of a challenege).

Dunno - that Raidsonic box looks pretty neat. I have Icy Docks and am pretty happy with them - very reliable. I had a bunch of IDE docks back in the day, and they were very prone to connection problems (power, or one of the 50+ pins wouldn't connect). SATA makes it really nice.
Here's some ICY Dock - though I think their external boxes are nicer than the internal ones.

This is what I have:

Tray or trayless, it's about the same in terms of pain-in-the-neck to transport. Generally, I found I put one drive in there and rarely swap it out. I also have a USB SATA "dock" on my desktop that rarely gets swapped out.
