Thermalright Shaman - I want one!

Thermalright is showing - in a small video that you can find at Madshrimps - their new Shaman VGA cooler.
I was thinking of a similar design but with 4 x 8 mm heatpipes, while the Thermalright Shaman design uses 8 heatpipes.
The heatpipes seem to be only 5-6 mm thick though. Oh, and it comes with a 140 mm fan, but you can use it with any 120 mm fan.

I doubt it can be mounted like the Accelero S1, because the heatpipes would hit the motherboard.
Even normally mounted (like in the video), on some mobo / gfx card combinations it may hit the PCI connector(s) below (with the fins or the fan).
Maybe on some cards that have the GPU socket very far away from the motherboard it may be possible to mount it like the Accelero S1.
I think of it as a T-Rad2 evolution, two more heatpipes (which I am not sure are really needed, except for a GTX 480 ), and a single larger fan.

the heatsink itself takes up 3 slots which is a bit too beefy imo. it's too bad they didnt reduce the space but maybe they couldnt get the heat pipes to fit then...

Will prolly have limited compatibility. And won't really work that great fanless. Sure, it's Tr, it will perform or they wouldn't market it, but it does have its flaws.

It is compatible with quite a lot of video cards:

Sweet. Looks like a good design and being from Thermalright it'll likely be a good performer. Too bad it'll also be very expensive.

5770 already seems to have plenty of v good factory coolers - Hawk, Twin Frozer, Vapor-X, AC TT rebrands, GB SilentCell...
I mean - how much improvement can you see replacing a Vapor-X with Shaman + Slip Stream? Will it be worth the money?

Sure, 5770 is not the only one out there, but still a v popular card, prolly making the bulk of Radeon sales. And more and more cards with v capable "stock" coolers come to the market. GB Twinfart anyone? Or GTX460 whose default cooler gets applause across this forum? GTS450 as well.

Seems that VGA makers have found a new way to tap into our pockets - offer us cards that do not require aftermarket behemoth all copper cosmic sauce chamber contraptions. They do realize that the market is getting more dB conscious as more and more gear gets increasingly energy efficient and quiet. PSUs? Try to buy a new one that has no 80+ at least. Bronze, silver - cheaper by the dozen. Cool CPUs? Just get a E5200 and run it fanless with box cooler (yes, you can). Not everybody needs it OCed @ 4 GHz to browse the web VGAs? Plenty of fanless cards, if you don't have an IGP already. Not everybody is a hardcore gamer. But I'm digressing...

I don't like this cooler. Focuses on gpu temperatures and lets the rest of the card go to hell, literally. At least the T-Rad, when paired with two fans, gives plenty airflow to the rest of the card (and is the only one that could block just one extra slot, which is something that everyone overlooks). This cooler will HURT overclocking and stability, and fill your case while doing that!

we need to see what vrm heat sinks are included, before passing judgement on how well it cools the rest of the card.

Check fin orientation and fan coverage, almost no airflow will get to the back of the card. I just hope they will include fairly tall heatsinks to overcome this issue...

It basically is more expensive and less effective than an Accelero Xtreme, all while occupying an extra slot... Might be good if one doesn't have long enough clearance in its case though.
