-NO : photoshop,OC,sli/crossfire,3d,multiscreen
- i look for no absolut silence, i understand tha a pc makes noise.. but i sleep in the same room and is dowloading all nigth so i would like most quiet.i dont mind to pay more for a better psu for example

Hi bayushi3 and welcome,

I'll buy these instread:
CPU Cooler-> Scythe mugen revb is a better candidate
psu Enermax Modu/Pro87+ 500 or seasonic x-650
from the review caviar green is one of the most quietest 3.5" hdd

XFX Radeon HD 6870 maybe consider an aftermarket cooler if you want silent

Antec solo is a great case but for gaming. . .
At least you'll have to change the fans if you want something silent, go for nexus real silent fans

As sub has already said, for a gaming machine the Solo isn't the most favourable case.
As you need cooling power, maybe an Antec Mini P-180 is a worthy option (but you have to go for a mATX board, not a bad choice if you won't go for CFX/SLI).

Might you save some euros picking an AMD system (especially on the mainboard), and so you can use those money to tweak the system?

However, about quietness, you have to swap all the fans (case, heatsinks - the CM 212 Plus is a more proven and probably better design than the TX3 - and vga - maybe a Sapphire with an AC Accelero Xtreme instead the XFX -) while, as you already have seen, the TX650 is simply inadequate for a nightly use: you may give a look to SPCR recommended PSUs looking for best results under the 300W DC power.

If you want to go for untested (by SPCR) models, and just as examples, the Seasonic S12D currently sell on eBay under 99, while the XFX Core is under 88 euros: I know well the M12D and the XFX Black which should be just their modular counterparts, and they are perferctly fine to use in a bedroom.

About drives: a little SSD (OCZ, Crucial, Corsair, and a few others) would help performances, while a Seagate Momentus 7200.4 might help quietness but it's just the half of the proposed WD Green: so this latter seems a decent trade off among price, capacity and quietness (even if it is the previous WD15EADS to be recognized as the quietest one).
Something like a Scythe Quiet Drive surely improve noise signature on any drive, but for about 30 euros I don't know if it may worth for you.
About faster options, any relatively good 1TB 7200rpm drive, such as a WD10EALS, should noticeably improve performances, but it would be just "acceptable" in an elastic suspension only (as the Solo already has), while being as noisy as bigger ones (and this is not quite true for GP drives). So, they are not recommended if you want to sleep comfortably, while something like Caviar Blacks are simply to be avoided, from a silence perspective (but I don't know the more recent Samsungs).

Hi,
I would think twice about that XFX video card. My impression from reading reviews about the 5000 and 6000 generations of Radeon cards is that XFX generally are at the noisy end of the spectrum and focus on cool temperatures at the expense of fan noise. We are just seeing the 6870 cards coming out in lower-noise versions, so if you hang in there for a few weeks or maybe a month I would guess that vapor-x or direct-cu would be coming along which would be better for your noise levels.

If you intend to try and sleep in the same room as your PC, you might want to go for quieter fans than the stock ones that come with your case and CPU cooler.

Nexus Real Silents or Scythe's Slipstream, S-Flex or Gentle Typhoon fans are all pretty good.

Add a fan controller, some Zalman Fanmates or use software control to adjust the speed of these fans and you're good to go.

Looks like a pretty solid system otherwise. I don't know how quiet the 6870 will be, but with some quiet undervolted fans, that is likely to be the noisiest part of your system.

Hope that helps!

It should be definitely quieter and faster than "1.0" (even if, are you sure 60GB will be enough for your downloading? The Caviar Green you picked up initially is still an acceptable compromise solution), but still lacks what sub already suggested, to be really quiet.
I mean an Arctic Cooling Accelero Xtreme Plus + AC VR001 for the XFX (or maybe an Accelero Xtreme 5870 if it works for the 6870), and two (three, if you swap even the CoolerMaster fan) Scythe Slipstream, or Nexus white/black or orange/black, 120mm fans (the Antec TriCool fans are very effective to cool down the pc, but also noisy): not to be annoying, but it's more important to address those issues, than going for the wonderful case/psu combo you choose (probably still the best around).
So, if money is running out, you may try to spare some euros on case/psu (obviously, if you have 80-100 euros more, you can stick with those Antecs).

I don't see any definitely better fan on that page: however, remember to slow down even those Gentle Typhoon, using a suitable software (Speedfan for Windows, fancontrol for Linux), or a fan controller (Scythe Kaze Server).

Moreover, if you mind, in Spain I've found also these shops:

As far as I know, the Scythe Kama Angle isn't better than the CM Hyper 212Plus.
The Noctua is a bit better (from a silence perspective), but it also costs twice what the Cooler Master costs, so personally I wouldn't buy it and with that money spared I would buy this: http://www.pccomponentes.com/arctic_coo ... _5870.html .
