a press of the power button and the power led turns on, as does the wifi led, but the lcd is blank and the hdd led doesn't flash.
pressing the wifi on/off button turns the wifi led off, it won't turn back on afterwards.
removing power makes the lcd flash white like turning off a crt.
hdd doesn't spin up at all, no vibrations.
what i've tried:
reseating/removing ram.
changing the hdd.
full hdd scan on my desktop, no errors.
the power button thingy without the battery and brick.
external lcd.
pressing f2 to try to get into bios.
i think it's dead, anyone think otherwise?

If "reseating/removing ram" means that you actually swapped it with a different known working module, I think you should have run out of options, with reference to FIY (Fix It Yourself) common ones.

My GF's compaq laptop is weird sometimes.
Sometimes it needs the power connected after doing a battery pull for the screen to light up/to boot.
Sounds silly, but does something as simple as that work?

it has 512mb ram right in the motherboard so i'm sure it isn't the ram, at least not the removable stick.
connecting the power doesn't help.
some more discoveries/things i forgot to write in the first post:
battery charges.
numlock and caps leds don't work.

There is RAM build into the motherboard? I was not aware there were Atom setups like that. Or is this some ARM netbook?
Re: lenovo s10 netbook dead? help me fix it or put it to res
1st gen single core atom, 512mb onboard +512mb stick for 1gb ram.
