passive cpu cooler other option

Post by SilentMax » Tue May 17, 2011 10:02 am

hello I have

mobo asus p5b-se
cpu dual core e3xx oc at 2 600
antec 300 case
psu enermax 82+

I need a cpu passive no fan cooler and I want to buy one also for future pc buildings (i7 etc)

Do you have any other option over the thermal H2 cooler?

Thank you in advance!

The HR-01 plus is proven.... but I guess you have to buy it used now.

Scythe Ninja and Scythe Orochi are the other two of note.

Passive is overrated, especially when your system already has a fan in it (PSU). Put a low speed fan on the CPU cooler.

thermalright HR-02 is a good choice for your current setup as well as future upgrades. even though some people say it's a "passive" cooler, it's more like semi-passive because the offset design of it allows it to be very close to your case fans. so although you don't have to use a dedicated fan for it, it depends on being next to your case fans to run high power CPUs. not sure if price is a factor not, but it's a a bit expensive
