But of course:
1) If you really want to see the case insides, the only thing you need to do is to look behind monitor.
2) If you do not want to see the case insides, the only thing you need to do is to watch monitor screen.
Just kidding...
Here I just promote case dimensions and design ideas, not it's transparency.
But good point, transparent case does not make much sense if behind monitor.

Ive been running open cases for a few years with no perceivable issues regarding a lack of RF shielding. I dont think its as critical in modern gear, as it was in old gear...

You may well be correct on this. I think that new equipment is less prone to damage from static electricity, as well.
