Its close right now. And they're still only 7k behind, could close that quickly if things go right/wrong for either of us.

We're back in the safe zone again. Our recent push seems to be helping. I don't think they will catch us.

Hey Plutronics, Welcome to SPCR! An enemy stabs you in the front and a friend stabs you in the back!

BTW, the link you so kindly posted is dead. Probably should check on the Macintosh server.

And, we can help Mac, uhh, addicts! Just let us know.

Unfortunately it is down due to bad weather. Plenty of ice and snow in the great northwest. Looks like we will have to relocate the server to a nice warm tropical clime. But then the nice chilly air temperatures would be lacking and air cooling would no longer be an option. Oh the agony of it all.

SPCR members have responded to the call. I wouldn't say Team MacOS X is no longer a threat - they most certainly are, but they are going to have to do a bit better to catch us.

I think I jinxed myself. My Linux server just went down :!:

Well, I live near Houston so that ought to be warm enough. Why don't you send that ol' Mac Server down here and I will "take care" of it for you......

I've tried those flags. All they do is require three times as many WU's for the same number of points. What's up with that? :P

Why people arguing about which is better?

This PC vs. Mac thing is an endless War. I have been building at least fifteen PCs in my life, and using Mac for 4 years. PC is good in some aspects, and Mac is good in other aspects. Should I be on PC side or Mac side?

You just buy something what you want, or buy something that meets your purpose. No reason to fight for your machine, because it doesn't make your machine happy.

Do you think that Micheal Jordan was a good player? I mean not only as a basketball player, but also a baseball player.

Well, I for one only wish my PC was designed with as much thought and care to asthetics as your typical Mac/apple/G4. The beige box mold is starting to break, but it sure is still way behind.

Nam,

I think you may be taking the jabbing a bit too seriously. The two sides are just having some fun at the expense of the other. I have worked as a tech on both Mac's and PC's. I had to support both platforms in a school district for several years. Though my preference is in the PC realm, I understand and accept the fact that some prefer Mac's. I refuse to get into the inevitable argument over technology vs. marketing and I think that most here would agree.

If a person is happy with their purchase, more power to them....even if it is a Mac (oops...did I say that?)

I soared well over 100 WUs when my P4 was having its issues after a power outage. I then tried a slightly large overclock and it didn't like that either.

How true. For what I usually do at home with my computer, one of those upside down bowl macs would be perfect. Kinda expensive tho, the 17" lcd one retails for $1,800, then you gotta buy your mac apps. And, the professional app that I use at the office isn't available for mac - rarely use it at home tho.

Just a bit o' friendly bullshitting. I was a Mac guy for a very long time, and an Apple guy for as long before that. I was in Dallas for the introduction of the original Mac in 1984. My niece works for Apple. One day, perhaps soon, I will own another Mac. I just saw a G5 a few days ago and fell in love with the industrial design. Simply gorgeous.

With that said, come on guys, we can't let those scurvy dogs catch us!

IMO there has always been a clear-cut distinction between between Macs and PCs. Macs have always have more stable operating systems and better user interfaces, and PCs have dominant market share and superior price.

Which is better? It all depends on your definition of "Better". For me personally, price and market share are more important. That's why the three Macs I have owned are up in the attic with my TRS-80.

This won't save me from some of the more ferocious wolves who are chasing me, but it may hold them off for a little longer.
Cough! Cough! Wipe eyes. The dust that tangled is kicking up in front of me is really buggin me. Gotta speed up and pass by! :P
