Build Your Own Instruction Sites/Forums

Post by Sooty » Thu Feb 26, 2004 5:01 pm

I’m talking about sites that show newbies the precise step-by-step procedure to assemble your components into a computer. I found 3 links listed here at SPCR, now I can’t find them  One site looked really good. Can someone show me where on this site they are listed. Thanks.

Sorry I don't know of any resources to help you, but when I built my first computer a while ago, it was relatively easy. Deciding on parts was the hardest. The actual assembly went smooth since you can find specific instructions with the product and online a lot easier than a comprehensive manual.

I personally took online courses until I was brought up to speed and followed hardware review sites to keep myself updated.

Although I've lost a lot of respect for Tom's Hardware, they did write a decent guide

What's wrong with Tom's Hardware? This is like the 3rd time I've read a comment about Tom's Hardware this week. Never heard anything negative about them previously. The only things I've started to hate there are the Game and LAN Party reviews (WTF?) and the Opinion Column (did anyone see that Intel vs AMD thing this week?).

Thanks for the replies. Just bugs me I lost that particular site. There's many of these sites, but this one looked like THE best! I'm sure the link was on SPCR. I can't see it in the links section - maybe it was in a forum sticky.

That should answer some of your questions.

Three links, halfway down page... http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=4094 But now I think maybe, Toms Hardware version is the best, or atleast it's got the most photos, which always impresses a numb-skull like me  So thanks again sthayashi.

I built my first PC following the instructions at the site listed below:

http://www.pcmech.com/byopc/

It has very methodical instructions for building a PC.
