I like the moth, it is directly associated with silence. Maybe if it was colored differently?

How about a "hush" image like this one?

Image

Hm, a "hush" person plus a sleeping rabbit plus a computer. This will be a very complex logo... It might look great as background image or screen saver.

Ehh, a little too much T 'n A for this cowboy.

How about this one:

At least it's "work safe"!

silvervarg -- that photo is special! Her expression & pose suggest enticement, mystery, playfulness, affection, intimate sharing... in short, all the promises a man needs to feel desire. It's an image of the ultimate siren. 8)

If she's someone you know, well you're a lucky guy; if not, we can both fantasize; if she's your sister, um... has she ever been to Canada?

BACK on TOPIC: Haven't had any time to consider a "badge" style SPCR logo; will have to give it some thought.

It was VIA, not Vantec, that had the Silence of the Fans campaign for their "Eden" platform.

Isn't that Jewel in her "pre-slut" period?

Well if you want to go out and have some case badges made, I guess it'll help out a little with the cost of running this site. Probably not by much though. Assuming a very generous $1 profit per badge, we're probably looking at less than $200.

Of course, if we get a really cool logo, we can branch into lapel pins, baseball caps, t-shirts, underwear...

Or maybe not :-)

Since I know it can be fairly time intensive, I don't mind helping out by mailing out the badges if you need volunteers. I just don't want to be collecting the money.

Wussboy glad to hear it. I like it too but I agree with the earphone/earmuff comments and haven't been able to come up with anything else.

PhilgB: Can you give us a link to a larger version, for some wallpapering? :)

I wanted to make it as large as my desktop but it gets very ugly then.

How about this:

It's Thermaltake's low noise (yeah, i know... ) logo, but i like it very much. Too bad that this pic is low-res...

What kind of desktop? What res?

Like this one?

Or like this one?

I can redo the second if that's what you were looking for.

DG I dont think they'll let us use their cat.

Now this last one is really getting somewhere. But you are right, we will need another cat there. Can I also suggest making it a bit more contrast? Or, maybe have two versions - with low and high contrast. It will be dificult to see what's on the picture when it is a case badge close to the floor...

Looks good. Just need to tweak the cat so Mike doesn't get sued and maybe make the lettering a bit bigger.

Arrg....so a logo for SPCR for has come down to a sleeping cat? I'm sure some people think that's cute, but I was looking for something more classy, more original.

Never wanted the cat, just put it up to see what it would look like. I wanted something simple like the first one...

PhilgB, great work... all or yours look very professional. i actually like the one with earmuffs best so far, but i can see how it could confuse people... they might think we're DJ's or something

how about a PC with "0dB" stamped on the front? i'm just trying to think of other easily identified quiet things: a mime, a mouse, hear-no-evil monkey, a muffler, one hand clapping, zipped lips, mute button, etc. but i have a hard time visualizing how any of these could ever look good. let's keep the ideas coming.

loren_b lol

Going to work on something with the 0db.

Bluefront's right about the 'no cutsey animals' thing...

I like the hear-no-evil monkey, but might give same impression as headphones.

What about a case with a clossed zipper instead of the butterfly in the "silence of the ..."-badge...

I was originally going to suggest showing a pin bouncing off next to a computer a la the old Sprint commercials (if you're American). But I realized that might be too difficult.

Something that might be interesting to pursue would be a PC that's in bed with Zzz coming out of it.

The problem with that is that "Zzz" is the noise of snoring, and snoring can be very loud.

If cute animals/mascots are out, how about a glider, or a submarine?

You could use a ninja. Ninjas are silent, and deadly.
