Just got a hair up my butt a few days ago and changed to this.

Prior to that it looked like this for about 8 months.

A shot of my current desktop is here (1600x1200, 117kB PNG).

I kind of like minimalistic designs...

My seriously boring work desktop is here (1600x1200, 242k jpg, fuzzy in places)

Mati - that is a seriously nice desktop. Is it KDE? I use GNOME on my GUI'd GNU/Linux boxes.

Here is my latest. It's a bit more cluttered than I like, but I've never been able to make a keyboard shortcut work without an icon on the desktop.

This (1061 KB ) is the latest one that I've got of my FreeBSD system (I'm using Windows right now because FBSD needs reinstalling and I'm too lazy to do it).

Better late than never, I suppose:

My desktop normally has only ONE cute anime mascot window sitter, but here I decided to put a bunch onscreen at once. :)

I've had THIS ONE now for ... *thinks* ... 5 years now.

Yep - 5 years. Wow ...

I just like Blind Guardian too much.

It's the cover for the "Nightfall In Middle Earth" album...

If it came from Ralf Hutter, it must be Kraftwerk.

Does everyone clean up their desktop before making a cap? Mine is totally cluttered with icons and has nothing but a solid blue background and the metro traffic map.

Kling Klang is the name of Kraftwerk's recording studio as well as the name of their publishing company and German record label. Here's a bit more info.

*rofl*

I didn't clean up. I just try to keep my desktop icon-age to a bare minimum.

The amount of times I had to slap silly sales people for having 100+ objects on their desktops and wondering why Windows was on its last legs... :D

"clean == good"

Cleanliness is godliness. Or something to that effect, I seem to recall? :)

(Not that this holds true very much for me, i fear, being mostly chaotic in nature) :)

I've heard it as "Cleanliness is next to godliness".

I tend to subscribe to that philosophy myself, and the screeny of my desktop is how it always looks. Nothing was cleaned up to post here.

Feh - obviously don't listen to the [/b]Smashing Pumpkins[/b] do you? As per This link - search for the song "ZERO". Allow me to quote:

emptiness is loneliness, and loneliness is cleanliness
and cleanliness is godliness, and god is empty just like me

Ner ner ner ner.

(now wasn't THAT mature :D).

Funny thing is, that's the only Pumpkins LP that I own. I'll blame it on the 100°F++ temps here. My brain is melting.

I didn't clean up my desktop--I did the opposite. I tend to not run much at once, so I had to "spice things up" with a horde of anime mascots and a couple extra windows compared to what I normally use.
