ok, im making a silent computer, and i just pluged in my suspended seagate hdd's into my zalman 400 watter and shorted the green and black...the seagates were VERY noticable, so i got to thinkin....
1) the noie will be reduced greatly when case is closed
2) with noise dampening junk, case will quiet it more
3)(the conclusion!!!) i need case dampeninng stuff
pretty straight forward to me..
and ways, i got 2 Q's
1) can i cut holes in the foam? right now i got a 120mm blowhole on the side, and a rectangular hole on the bottom(airflow) so i would want some stuff i can cut into
2) is there anything at a smallish hardware store that would work? i dont like ordereing things like this online, because they are such small purchases, andi can just bike to the store.... but it isnt a home depot or anything..just a smallish hw store(im in a small town)
now, assuming i couldnt get anything local,
a) what should i get? keep it cheapish!
case dampening stuff?

CASE DAMPENING..........
boardsportsrule,
The other day I was at Sears and got some tool box drawer
liner called "Top Mat" which I put in my case which helped a little.
It looks like a Yoga sticky mat, if you know what is, but is a
little thicker.
Now I have some foam that I am going to add to that, which
was scrap from work. It may not be great but it's cheap. Good
luck.
