What are the best graphics settings for Hogwarts Legacy: PS4, PS5 & Xbox Series X
Unlike older consoles, the latest PS5 and Xbox Series X can support a number of different graphics modes – allowing you to choose what experience best suits your needs.
They’re also powerful enough to drive high frame rates even when utilizing the game’s top settings.
For this reason, we believe the Fidelity with RTX (Ray tracing) is the best graphical mode for Hogwarts Legacy for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players.
Alongside this, we also recommend that players turn Depth of Field to ON – as it adds to the general immersion levels of the game.
Lastly, we noticed that turning Film Grain off also creates a more natural image experience – with the ON setting creating image noise.
For those on Xbox One and PS4 consoles, you will be playing Hogwarts in 900p resolution at 30FPS. You should be able to unlock frames giving you up to 50 via the cap frame rate function in the menu. Those on the PS4 Pro will be able to run the game in 1080p.
Of course no Ray Tracing or anything special like that for the older generations but we recceomnd turning off the following:
- Motion blur: off
- depth of field: off
- chromatic aberration: Off

What graphics modes are available for Hogwarts Legacy?
In this guide, we’ll be focusing on the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, so graphics mode support will vary for PC players.
That said, the next-gen console version of Hogwarts Legacy supports a bunch of graphical settings – but which one is best?
The most commonly used setting for the new game is Fidelity mode which targets the 30FPS range. This opts for a better visual experience while sacrificing frame rates.
Performance mode, by contrast, focuses more on gameplay smoothness – offering a 60 frame rate experience.
All-in-all, the game will feature five main graphical modes which include the following:

- Fidelity mode with RTX (ray tracing)
- Performance Mode
- Balanced
- HFR (high frame rate) performance mode
Does Hogwarts Legacy support VRR?
According to the WB support, the game does support VRR (Variable refresh rate).
So, for individuals using a VRR-supporting monitor or TV – such as the LG C2, G2, Sony A95K, or Samsung S95B (to name but a few) – you’ll be able to enjoy seamless gameplay without screen tear.
Does Hogwarts Legacy support HDR?
Yes, the game offers a HDR output – however, you’ll have to utilize a TV that has HDR functionality.
