One of the greatest sci-fi RTS games returns (hopefully this year) bringing along with it all the intense fleet battles and epic galactic scenes. The Homeworld 3 release date has been nothing but whispers and rumors so far, with many initially expecting to see it late 2022.
Developers Blackbird Interactive unfortunately delayed the game, stating it was set to arrive in the first half of 2023. This delay enabled the team to deliver the highest possible qulaity of the game and ensure the playersa re the ones who win at the end of all this waiting.
Homeworld 3 release date coming before July?
Homeworld 3 on Steam still merely says “coming soon” but as we approach May, ther eisn’t really much time left on this first half of the year ticking clock. Developers recently tweeted several official soundtracks to Homeworld 2 along with some designs and bunch of other teasing activity but still no news of an official release date.
Homeworld 3 gameplay
Towards the end of 2022 at Gamescom we were treated to a bit of Kesura Oasis gameplay in an extended cut YouTube trailer that you can see below. The trailer just made us even more impatient but it becomes evident how important strategy will be in this new release.
The world looks immersive, the audio sounds epic, and the tactics look incredibly fun. The initial trailer showed us some familiar units including Fighters, Bombers, and Assault Frigates. The movement system was also showcased and looked pretty close to older Homeworld games.
Itlooks as though combat will be quite close to older Homeworld games but the new campaign and all that comes with this new game looks incredibly enticing. The story in Homeworld 3 picks up a few generations after 2, with the original protagonist missing. You will be tasked with combating a massive threat to your Galaxy, which in some way or another is tied to the MIA Karan.
