In the tech world, everything seems to move at lightspeed, so it’s no surprise that so soon after WiFi 6 and 6E were showcased, WiFi 7 is already getting ready for release. But when exactly is that release going to be? Short answer is that there’s no definitive date just yet, but we’ll go through all we know about WiFi 7 here.

What is WiFi 7?

Simply put, WiFi 7 is an upgraded version of all previous WiFi devices. It still supports all previous devices that were operating on earlier models, but at its core WiFi 7 is made to increase transfer speeds, reduce latency and boost overall network capacity. It is the ideal network to support the inevitable arrival of 8K video streaming.
