Nvidia’s RTX 40 series has had its ups and downs, with the RTX 4090 stunning the gaming world and the RTX 4080 barely entering the spotlight. Now gamers have an RTX 4070 release date to look forward to, that’s right, a new card is coming to the family this month.
There have even been rumors of an RTX 4090 Ti release date but for now, it is just the possible mid-range champion set to launch very soon.
It has been tricky keeping the cash in the wallet of late, with prices dropping on the still very-viable RTX 30-series GPUs. For those with patience, it is about to pay off, hopefully.
If you are wondering where to buy the RTX 4070 GPU, wee have you covered.
RTX 4070 release date
The Nvidia RTX 4070 release date is set for April 13th, 2023. The review embargo tends to be the day before, giving us all a chance to see how well the new GPU does in the benchmarks. April sees a small spike in hardware activity, with the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D available to buy on the 6th.
It is hard to say whether or not the RTX 4070 will sell out as quickly as the 4090 or older RTX 3070. Stock issues of the past seem to have alleviated so we doubt shoppers will have to wait long, if at all come release.
RTX 4070 release time
We predict the RTX 4070 release time to be around 6am Pacific, which is 2pm BST. This is the common release time for most CPU and GPU launches so we are pretty confident even though there is no official word.

RTX 4070 Price
Videocardz reported the RTX 4070 price will be $599, $200 less than the TI SKU. The MSRP, which could be subject to change, matches the RTX 3070 Ti at launch. If it remains at this price point we could see if fly off the shelves.
Those waiting to see what the lower-end RTX 4060 and beyond offer may start to consider the 4070.
RTX 4070 specs
We also saw the potential RTX 4070 specs over at Videocardz, with the new GPU featuring as many cores as its predecessor.
- CUDA Cores: 5888
- Base Clock: 1920MHz
- Boost Clock: 2475MHz
- Memory: 12GB G6X
- Bandwidth: 504 GB/s
- TDP: 200W
Back when the RTX 4070 Ti was launched, we were a bit perplexed. An RTX 4070 at the above price feels much nicer, and if the alleged performance is accurate, the 4070 could be 10-30% faster than the RTX 3090.
In any case, the RTX 4070 is a card we are getting quite excited about, who doesn’t wish for high performance at an affordable price? Fingers crossed.
