Does anyone have information regarding the fan with the 2 connectors?

Re: SFX and Shuttle PSU (Fan Changing..)
Thanks for the replies. I was just wondering if anybody had actually fitted a SFX PSU into a Shuttle before, if I was to, I am guessing I would need cut various pieces of metal away which I am not keen on. Thank you for the suggestion about that PSU, sadly it is the same width (6.3cm) as a standard ...

SFX and Shuttle PSU (Fan Changing..)
Hi everyone, I have just bought a Shuttle SZ77R5 and am relatively pleased with it except the PSU fan is very loud. I have moved from a Corsair AX750 and so I guess any noise is too much. I have a few questions: 1) The SZ77R5 has a PC63J PSU. This has a 50mm fan and keeps the PSU very cool. All the ...

Re: Shuttle SZ77R5
Thanks for that, was definitely looking at the Asus DirectCU II. I've read that at Idle even with you ear to it you can't hear it and at full load it is as quiet as the stock at idle. I'm also limited to a double slot card as the shuttle can't take a triple one. Sadly, nowadays most aftermarket cool...

Shuttle SZ77R5
I currently have a Lian Li V354B case fitted out with 2 x Noctua fans and a Corsair AX750W PSU. The HD6950 has a Gelid Icy Vision Cooler attached. All fans are at 5v or less (except the 140mm) and thus the case is pretty much as silent as it can be. It also had purely an SSD and so I didn't need to ...

Re: HD6950 Aftermarket Cooler Compatability
Just to let everyone know. Fitted the Gelid Icy Vision Rev 2 to an XFX HD6950 2GB graphics card and it fits perfectly! I have no idea why it isn't supported on their website as it fits better than the HD6870. The VRM heatsink which I could not use on the 6870 fits perfectly on the 6950, so absolutel...

Thank you all for the extremely helpful replies.
I've gone ahead and ordered an XFX HD6950 2GB, should come on Friday, I shall let you know how I get on but hopefully there will be no problems!

HD6950 Aftermarket Cooler Compatability
Hi all, I currently have an HD6870 with a Gelid Icy Vision Rev 2 fitted. I have undervolted the fans and they are hardly spinning but still keeping my card cool enough (36 degrees idle and 70 at load) I am thinking about upgrading to a 6950 and was wondering if the Gelid would fit, I have read hundr...

A Quiet 2.5" SATA Drive for My XPS M1330
Hello All. I have a Dell XPS M1330 laptop and after a few months I am becoming increasingly bothered by the noise. I have had the motherboard changed twice to get rid of the whine but to no avail. I am now going to buy a new HD to try and quieten it down. The current HD is a Fujitsu Siemens 160GB 8m...

Thinking Of Selling My Website...
Hello, not had much time for SPCR over the past few months due to constantly updating my website and look over the internet for bargains. The website is: www.Cheap-Infomation.co.uk And so I think it may be time to sell up. It has had around £2,500 (maybe more) in revenue via affiliates (full record...

E6600 Cooler - Short List
Ok, I've read all the things on here about the coolers but... 1) I bought a 7700AlCu on Impulse, this was a very, very bad mistake, the noise it made at 5 volts in my view was crazy. So that has gone in the bin. 2) I am now looking at the Freezer 7, I did have a Freezer 64 and was very impressed wit...

Those aren't pretty temperatures. Time to check all your fans to make sure they're still spinning, and your filters to make sure they're not clogged. If those are fine, you'll need to think back and try to remember what the last change to your system was... Tell me about it Lol, I have reseated the...

Helllo thanks for your replies and clearing up the temperature PSU things. Recently my Newcastle CPU has been running at 42 idle (with Cool N quiet one!!!) and a baking hot 58 degrees when on full load. It used to be idleing at 28 and maxing out at 50 degrees. I have no idea why it has suddenly got ...

Hello, thank you very much for your reply. I thought it was controlled not by the heat but by the output voltage due to this: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article131-page4.html It matches the Voltage with sounds levels directly so I thought it was due to this? Anyone any more ideas? Thanks again, A...

Nexus 350 Watt "Real Silent" Joke Right?
Hello, I know you this is probably the zillionth thread you have seen recommending a PSU but I have a few criteria. 1) Firstly, I am wondering if my Nexus PSU is malfunctioning by being so loud or if I am over powering the PSU by my components. My System is: Newcastle 3500+ 64 Bit With Freezer 64 @ ...

Ah, thank you for that. So the PSU fan wracks up if the heat increases? I was under the impression that it goes high when there is a high amount of power needed? I cannot really remember how the PSU was as my computer was never completely silent due to the other components. you could slow the fan sp...

Quest For Silence: Nexus + Samsung
Hi, just trying to put the final parts together for a silent computer Ok, basically my system would be silent if it were not for 3 components. 1) My Nexus Real Silent 350 Watt I think is now the noisest part of the system, I can stop all the other fans (graphics, CPU etc) and not hear any difference...

That shouldn't have any problems atall. My system is running a Nexus 350 Watt and it powers a 6800GT, 2 x Samsung HDs, AMD 3500+ Newcastle (larger power requirements), Audigy 2, DVD+RW and quite a bit of other stuff. It's the graphics card in my opinion. Surely if it was a PSU problem why don't you ...

Loud NV 5 Silencer
Hello all, Basically I have a 6800GT with an NV5, I have had to undervolt it to just 5 Volts to get it any where near silent. Even then it seems fairly loud. Yet I hear people who say that their NV5s are silent without undervolting them or anything? Does anyone know if a bad batch was released and t...
